I split my time between a pharmacy counter and a code editor — and I wouldn't have it any other way. In one life I dispense medicine and counsel patients. In the other, I design and build the websites you see across Xclusive Tech's portfolio. Two very different disciplines, one obsession: getting the details right.

The unusual path to the web

How a science degree turned into a career in web design

Between 2018 and 2024, I studied for a Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm) at Kenyatta University — a rigorous, science-heavy program that had me elbow-deep in dispensing, patient counselling, clinical rotations and inventory management across hospital and community pharmacy settings. It's precise, high-stakes work: get a dosage wrong and it isn't a bug you can patch later.

What most people didn't know is that throughout every semester of that degree, I was quietly teaching myself to design and build websites. It started as curiosity — HTML and CSS on the side — and turned into a genuine passion for UI/UX design, front-end development and graphic design that I never grew out of. By the time I graduated, I wasn't choosing between two paths. I was already walking both.

Today I practice as a registered Pharmacist while also running Xclusive Tech, designing and developing websites for businesses across Kenya. I'm not treating one as a fallback for the other — I actively do both, and each one makes me better at the other.

On the pharmacy side

A registered Pharmacist with hands-on experience in dispensing, patient counselling and inventory management, gained through hospital attachments and community pharmacy practice. It's precision, compliance-focused work — and it shows up in how carefully I check every detail on a client's site before it goes live.

On the tech side

Founder and lead designer/developer at Xclusive Tech, where I design and build responsive, SEO-ready websites for businesses across Kenya — plus the brand identity, UI/UX and graphic design work that goes with them, from concept through deployment.

How I work

Habits from the pharmacy bench that carry over into every project

Precision by default

Dispensing medication leaves no room for "close enough." I bring that same zero-tolerance-for-error mindset to code reviews, testing and pixel-perfect layouts.

Useful over flashy

A site that looks impressive but confuses visitors isn't doing its job. I design for clarity and conversion first, decoration second.

Clear communication

Years of patient counselling trained me to explain complicated things simply. I bring that same clarity to client conversations — no unnecessary jargon.

Always learning

I taught myself this entire craft alongside a demanding science degree. That habit hasn't stopped — from AI-assisted development to new frameworks, I keep adding to the toolkit.
